Plans are being put in place to make Hednesford a dementia-friendly community to improve the quality of life for the increasing number of people living with the condition.
National charity the Alzheimer's Society wants to see dementia-friendly communities across the UK, and organisations and community groups that serve Hednesford want to see the Cannock Chase District town become one of them.
A launch event - funded by a number of organisations working in partnership - is being held on Wednesday 1st October at the Aquarius Ballroom in Hednesford from 1.15pm to 4pm (open to the public from 2pm). Organisations from across the public, private and voluntary sectors will be there to start the discussion about making the town a dementia-friendly community.
Local people who want to be involved and find out more are being encouraged to attend.
There is lots more information about dementia-friendly communities at www.alzheimers.org.uk.
