CGG welcomes decision of Solicitor General

NHS Cannock Chase Clinical Commissioning Group welcomes Her Majesty’s Solicitor General, Robert Buckland’s recent decision giving it authority to make an application to the High Court for a new inquest into the death of Jonnie Meek.

Jonnie was aged three when he died at Stafford Hospital in August 2014. An inquest in January 2015 found that he had died of natural causes.

The CCG has since supported his parents as they have sought a fresh inquest into their son’s death.

Marcus Warnes, Accountable Officer for the Staffordshire CCGs, said: “We welcome the decision and shall now be making an application to the High Court for a second inquest. We shall continue to support Jonnie’s parents in getting answers to their questions.”
