Too many people are turning up at A&E because they simply do not know where else to go for treatment or what other services are available.

The Choose Well campaign, which is being promoted at GP Practices and community venues across the area, focuses on getting people the right treatment in the right place at the right time.

Major Incident Continues

The health community in Staffordshire continues at major incident level.

Hospitals, community providers and NHS commissioners are working together to manage unprecedented demand for healthcare services. University Hospitals of North Midlands, Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Partnership NHS Trust, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Groups and the ambulance service have put in place measures to ensure that people who need hospital and emergency care can get treatment quickly.

NHS System pressures - Major Incident Declared

The health community in Staffordshire has now escalated to major incident level. Hospitals, community providers, NHS commissioners and West Midlands Ambulance Service are working together to manage unprecedented demand for healthcare services today (Monday 5 January 2015).
