We have come a long way over the past couple of years, bringing together teams and partners from across the health and social care landscape, to improve the health and wellbeing of our local population.

However, this also marks the start of an even bigger journey. One where we focus our collective efforts to strengthen and support connections, conversations and relationships with our local people and communities, to make sure that we put local people at the heart of everything that we do.

To make sure that our services are truly user designed, effective, joined-up and accessible to all, we need to continually listen to all of our local people to understand what is good and what needs to be improved – regardless of who they are and where they live.

Everyone is equally important in our eyes, and that will be our guiding focus as we continue to move forward in a new more joined-up and collaborative way of working.

Our draft strategy for working with people and communities outlines our approach to public engagement and involvement, including the key principles that will underpin our new ways of working.

It describes our more collaborative methods of working with people, communities and partners across the ICB, and provides a blueprint for how we will involve people, how we will respond to their views and experiences, and how we will identify and share the impact of involvement.
